License free houseboat rental
Discover the freedom of river navigation without the administrative hassles!
To rent one of the many houseboats we offer, you do not need to have a boat license, except in a few specific places such as crossing Berlin in Germany or the Douro River in Portugal.
Even novices can pilot our boats. Before casting off, the departure base will provide you with navigation training to teach you the necessary concepts and ensure you feel comfortable on board.
Following this training, which lasts a few dozen minutes, a temporary navigation authorization, called a pleasure craft card, will be issued to you. You can then enjoy your river cruise on the Canal du Midi, explore the rivers and canals of Burgundy, or discover the gems offered by Brittany's waterways, for example.
To help you prepare properly, we will provide you with informative documents to read in advance. These documents will be available in your client area upon receipt of the balance. Take the time to go through them and share them with your crew.
We would like to emphasize that it is imperative to rent a boat from an approved professional to benefit from this facility. Renting a boat without a license from an individual or an unapproved company can result in severe penalties. We are proud to be part of the community of professional river navigation providers, offering you a safe and memorable experience.
The official definition is as follows:
Renters must apply for approval from the administrative services to have the right to be lessors.
Once they have obtained this approval, renters are authorized to issue pleasure craft cards that exempt their clients (at least 16 years old) from the boat license. Order of October 25, 2007, Official Journal of November 9, 2007
